Thais Oliveira: “I started modeling because of my mom´s desire, I was pretty much a child but I always loved Adriana Lima, Gisele, Cindy crawford, Kate Moss”

25 jun, 2016

Hello World of Models family, my name is Thais, 24 years old and I’m from Belo horizonte, MG Brazil.

I live in NyC for almost 7 years now and  I like to do yoga and standup paddle on my free time. I love to sightseeing  with my friends and chat about whatever is going on.

Modeling: how did all begin

I was 12 when my mom decides I should participate in a contest from a shopping mall in my town. I was very tall and young so I didn’t win because I was competing with little kids. But the guy from the agency really liked me and invited me to work in his agency.

My first test shooting was weird because I was very shy and people was saying how beautiful I  was looking :)

So, I started modeling because of my mom´s desire, I was pretty much a child but I always loved Adriana Lima, Gisele, Cindy crawford, Kate Moss…

Posing to photographers

I really like when I work with a very experienced photographer because they know exactly what they want, so e easy and faster.

I don’thave any type of previous preparation I just go there and do.

The catwalks´ experiences

I did a couple of catwalks, I saw a lot of different stuff. Once I was in the backstage and the guy was calling someone and when I figured out he was calling my name. They never know how to say my name here so now when they call me and no one answers I know that´s me heheh

I´ve walked for Tommy Hilfiger, Nanete Lepore, Nikolas K, Marissa Webb, jay Godfray, Lino vilaventura, just to name a few!.

Male models  Female models

I think guys now s have more attention from the public but the girls still runs the place, because they have much more designers and brands fpr women, they have much more different types of products.

Thais´ style: a fashionista?

I don’t think I’m a fashionista, I do love fashion and try to have my own style, I’m a 24/7 model  because even when I  walk down  the streets,  people  always look at me.

So I wear the same style of clothes when I’m working or not, but my favorite style is boho chic. I think it matches with my personality

Imagine u a famous model surrounded by a huge crowd!

I’d just gonna be myself. I think I’m a friendly nice person and down to earth.
