Meet model Joel Baker from DT Model Management

Meet model Joel Baker from DT Model Management

21 abr, 2013

My hometown is Spokane, WA. Shoutout to Gonzaga basketball! I’ve always been pretty active, since my childhood.

My father got me started playing sports early on, coaching most of my teams. Basketball, baseball, soccer, running. Now I enjoy running and lifting for my  exercise. My main hobby is table tennis, I’ve been playing competitively on and off for about five years now.

The modeling world: how did all begin

I moved to L.A. over three years ago and tinkered around at a couple big named agencies until I went with David Todd @dtmodelmgmt, he really saw something in me, and it has been great ever since. He’s an amazing agent and person.

The best thing so far about the modeling is the people I get to meet, from celebs, top photographers, and designers.

Working with photographers: confidence

One thing I like a photographer to have is confidence, it makes a world of difference when they are confident in their abilities. I actually have a pretty religious routine before a shoot. If I know a few days in advance I’ll just make sure I’m in peak shape, then the morning of grab a coffee or two and sit in
the sauna for a bit.

I’m comfortable in most situations, and don’t feel ashamed to be nude. It’s not something I do much of though.

The catwalks experiences

I haven’t been on too many catwalks yet haha but I’m sure I´ll have some good stories for you in the near future.

Male models x Female models

Male models definitely do not have the same exposure as women, but we still get a descent amount. I’m not complaining. My favorite male model would have to be Jeff Tomsik, besides from being a real classy and nice guy, we happen to be agency brothers. For female, it would be Cara Delevingne, it was great to see her blow up since the vs show, and her personality really comes through in her photos.

Joel, a fashionista?

I’m not even close to a fashionista, I wear basic stuff, not too many accessories, mainly plain tees and jeans.

Imagine u a famous model surrounded by a huge crowd!

If I were to be confronted in public I’d just be chill and chat with my fans, it’s always good to be friendly.

Show business: entertainment

Show business in a whole is a great thing, at least you keep people entertained!

Loving x Dating

My style when it comes to dating is very relaxed and easy going, if I want something, I go get it.

Sports

I basically love anything fast paced, or something that keeps me moving.

Atracting someone´s attention

You’ll ever see me out in left field. I usually don’t go out trying to get anyone’s attention, but I don’t mind walking up to anyone to spark a chat.

Having fun, enjoying life

I spend a lot of time with close friends and pursuing my career, also an hour or two at the gym taking care of myself.

Craziest (nastiest?) thing in a summertime season

One of the craziest things that I’ve done in a summertime season, is skinny dipping with some friends,

Joel and his twin bro Kevin

Fav body part and why

My favorite body part would be my butt haha, I workout hard and love to see the progress.

Fav underwear for daily activities and for those cool sexy moments :)

My favorite underwear would have to be my dsquared, they’re clean, classic and sexy.

In his Ipod

I’m more into old school rock and classic rock, love some Beatles still.

If u weren´t a model, u´d be…

If I weren’t modeling, I’d probably be acting.

The upcoming projects

I have the Dsquared campaign shot by Steven Klein coming out soon and just recently shot Hollister with Bruce Weber, along with a barrage of
editorials and covers on their way out now, fantasticsmag, Carbon Copy, Annex mag, Rage magazine, details magazine, supplementaire, FHM china and several
others…

Motto

My motto is: take 1 day at a time.

And when u´ll come to my world bud?

I’d love to go check out Brazil!!! Soon enough I’ll make a trip down your way.
