Baixada Santista rocks, the series: photographer Diogo Peres
16 set, 2012
Hello, my name is Diogo Peres, I was born in São Vicente, Brazil.
I really don´t know when I got interested in photography. I think as long as I can remember, I have always been curious about the photography world. When I turned 23, I moved to Rio de Janeiro and it was there where I started working as a assistant photographer to a great bud of mine who used to work for big clients like Globo and Record networks.
It was a great experience and I learned a lot. Then I met 2 photogrpahers, one of them a renowned fashion photographer and
in my spare times I started to follow their works. I decided then to work with fashion and advertising.
My main influences are Bob Wolfenson, JR Duran, Christian Gaul, Jaques Dequeker, Miro, just to name a few
The digital era
The digital age has come to help us, the photographers. In today’s world everything is changing, including, of course, the technology. It´s fast, it´s real time.
Some people think that with the digital camera, lots of new photographers came to this market just because of the facilities of buying a cam, but I think that only the real photographers will be successful. In other words, it´s a matter of professionalism.
Crisis on fashion photography?
I´m a very optimistic guy despite the worldwide economic crisis. I know about all those problems, but I think that we can handle that with work, work and
more work! We have to improve our abilities even more, focus on the job to achieve the best result. That´s the way it is.
The special moments
It usually happens when we have a good teamwork in a good day, since we feel that everything gonna be all right. Concerning the perfect pic, I´m still
looking for that
Top 5 places for a shooting

regardless the place
Image worth a thousand words?
Yeah, definitely dude!
Working with the models
It´s one of those things that give me most satisfaction realizing that my job helped their careers and also helped increasing the customer´s sales. That´s really cool!
An unforgettable moment
When I bought my first camera and when I did my first shooting
I have no motto, I think the important is the balance.I really like this quote
“You don’t make a photograph just with a camera. You bring to the act of photography all the pictures you have seen, the books you have read, the music you
have heard, the people you have loved” (Ansel Adams)
I´m working in project here in Santos but I can´t tell you guys, so stay tuned cause it will be a blast!
And that´s all folks. Thanks for having me. I love photography and that´s what I want to do for the rest of my life. I´m still new on this business and I´m really excited about this fantastic world of photography!
