Danielle Huffin: “There’s no telling what the future holds with diversity. I can’t wait to see what’s in store”
17 jan, 2015
First, I just want to say thanks soooo much! OMG! This is AWESOME! Just to give you a little about myself, I was born in Pennsylvania and moved to Georgia when I was 10 years old. I love Georgia! Guess you can call me a Georgia Peach!
I’m the oldest of four siblings. I rule! LOL My personal interest varies, but one of them is attending college. I’m majoring in International Business and minoring in Spanish. I also enjoy watching movies! Spending time with the ones I love is something that love as well. But as you know, modeling tops them all!
Modeling: how did all begin
Modeling is something I’ve always wanted to do since I was a child. To be able to tell a story through body movement and relay messages to people across the world is so amazing to me.
I ended up going to an agency and audition with them. I’ve been working ever since.
The best thing about modeling is traveling. I love going to different locations and sets!!
Posing to photographers: listening Beyonce before striking a pose!
What I like most about working with a photographer is when you’re able to understand each other’s visions. It makes working together so much easier. I have to listen to music before posing with a photographer. Beyoncé always gets me in the mood!!
I’m comfortable with posing nude as long as the photographer is professional and doesn’t come across as perverted and doesn’t have other intentions in mind.
The runway shows
I love the runway! It’s my favorite! There’s nothing like it. The adrenaline rush you feel is indescribable. I remember being backstage once and the air conditioning broke. There were so many people back there and it was so hot! Let’s just say that a group of hot people running around does not make for happy models. Haha! I definitely made the best of it though.
I’ve already walked for Tyrell Holmes, Drexina Nelson and Bravo TV for a runway experience in Atlanta, GA. It was such an eye opening experience! I loved every minute of it!
When walking down the runway, I think of myself as the most beautiful, confident, strongest, sexiest woman to every have walked this earth. I’m unstoppable, and at this moment the whole world is watching me.
Male models x Female models: who rule this industry?
I think male models are slowly getting more exposure. I believe it will take quite some time before its equal in exposure. But until that time, it’ll be like the Beyoncé song “Who run the world?! GIRLS!” LOL
My favorite female models that inspired me was Tyra Banks, Chanel Iman, Jourdan Dunn, Karlie Kloss, Joan Smalls, and Adriana Lima. I mean the list could go on!! I’m a fan of every female model! They all inspire me to be great!!
The modeling market for black models in USA
I think the opportunity for black models has tremendously increased! The industry has become a lot more diverse and more accepting of so many different races. Black models are now on the covers of Vogue, Marie Claire, Cosmo, and Harper’s Bazaar. There’s no telling what the future holds with diversity. I can’t wait to see what’s in store.
Fav booking so far and why
My favorite book would be “The Slight Edge” by Jeff Olson. It’s a great read that teaches you how to change your mindset and have great discipline to live the success life you always wanted.
The dumbest think you’ve ever heard a model say
I think the dumbest think I’ve ever heard a model say is that they were going to dip cotton balls in orange juice and eat it so they can stay full and not gain weight. I think it’s the dumbest and saddest thing I’ve heard actually.
Danielle, a fashionista?
I wouldn’t consider myself a fashionista, but I do love fashion!! When I’m not working as a model, I like to wear whatever fits my mood. Sometimes it’s a nice pair of fitted jeans, patented leather pointed toe pump, and a comfortable blouse/shirt. Or it could be a maxi dress or even some sweats and a t-shirt. I really all depends.
Imagine u a famous model surrounded by a huge crowd!
OMG!! That would be so surreal!! I would have the biggest smile on my face! Of course I would hug as many of my fans as I could. Sign autographs, take pictures!! Anything for those that support me!
On show business
I enjoy show business. Entertaining others and being able to influence people is definitely something that I love to do. I believe you can do great things in show business. Stay grounded and keep God and good people around you and you’ll be fine.
I’m not a serial dater. I like to meet one guy and potential grow with that person. I’m not really into “playing games”
Call me a hopeless romantic. I love being in love. I don’t want my love to be like those romantic movies though. I want my own fairytale. Something just for me.
Sports: I LOVE FOOTBALL!!! WOO-HOO!
If you could have a super power what would it be?
If I could have a superpower, it would be to read minds.
My favorite superhero would be Jean Grey. She’s bad ass! She can read minds and control people with her thoughts!
Atracting someone´s attention and enjoying the best of life
The way I attract someone’s attention is by making eye contact and smiling at them. I’m a little flirtatious! My way of having fun is laughing and acting silly with my friends and family. I party every once and a while, but for the most part I’m creating fun activities like skating, rock climbing, and get togethers at home.
My way to enjoy the best of life is to not worry about anything. Worrying takes away from the joy of now. Another way to enjoy the best of life is to not compare yourself to anything or anyone. Comparison is the thief of joy!
Craziest (nastiest?) thing you’ve ever done in a summer time season
The craziest thing I’ve done in a summer time season is go skinny dipping. Is that even considered crazy? LOL
Fav body part and why
My fav body part is my eyes. It’s the window to my soul.
Earliest childhood memory
Playing kickball and hide and go seek outside with my friends.
Nickname in school: Danni and Huff and Puff LOL
Music and Food
I don’t have a favorite artist. It’s too hard to choose just one! I have all kinds of music in my IPOD: Florence and the Machine, Ne-Yo, Kanye, Chris Brown, Taylor Swift. A little bit of everything!
Fav food includes Sushi and mashed potatoes with chicken
If you weren´t a model you´d be… a traveling agent
Guilty pleasure: Hot Cheetos
An unforgettable moment
When I was contacted by one of my favorite photographers to shoot!
Yourself in 10 years
In 10 years I see myself being successful. Part of my definition of success includes getting married, have started my family, and have enough financial security to be able to live without much constraint.
Next chapters: expectations for 2015
My expectation for 2015 is to book a ton more jobs and continue to build my portfolio. I want to become a household name! 2015 will be great!
I will be doing a lot of traveling this year to shoot with great photographers. I’m hoping that I will get signed to agencies in LA and MIA. I’ll be sure to keep you guys in the loop of course!
Love you!! Thanks for all of the love and support! BESOS!!
